Studio Update | Sept. 2023
Happy September!
I'm bringing you what's happening in my studio, sparks of creativity and inspiration, and other good things :)
Family and Travel: My husband and I spent two weeks on the beautiful island of St. John in July. This natural little island is largely national park and is the most incredible place to explore. Scott and I are avid snorkelers and spent an incredible amount of time in the mangrove forests, finding incredible conchs, and hanging out with sea turtles. (Also, they have the most incredible beaches!)
Art Update: I've been creating some beautiful new products for Etsy and working hard on even more. I can't wait to show you!! (Tropical landscape inspired series coming soon…how can I not??:)
Exciting news - My work is now in Alabama Goods in Homewood, Alabama! They are opening a second store in Hoover that I'm also going to be a part of! Stay tuned - working on a series of original bird paintings for both stores.
I also had a featured interview with an art educator I love, Stacie Bloomfield, for her course - Leveraging Your Art - such a great course for artists like me!
Upcoming: Be on the lookout for my new email series - Meet my Artist Friend! I have slowly been connected with amazing artists here locally in Alabama and all over the world. I was so terrified when I stepped in the “professional artist” world and thought at every turn I would be swarmed with negative criticism. I have found however the opposite. The artist community is incredible welcoming and encouraging! I want to pay it forward by showcasing my artist friends I have met along the way. I love having all types of art in my home, and I love finding artists who I connect with personally and in their work!
