People like us, we belong in the water.

You can’t keep us from it. I grew up on Lake Martin, Alabama. Skiing in the early mornings, warm swims at dusk, wading the banks in winter, fishing for catfish in the dead of night. The water is home to me.

For this reason, I’ve always been inspired by the wildlife I’ve encountered. When I paint fish, I think of all the memories that are tied to them. The rainbow trout - me falling in love with fly fishing (and my husband) in the Smokies. The red snapper - my little sister reeling in the largest snapper we’d ever seen to my dad and brother’s envy. The bluegill - my young son bringing in his first one with a look of pure glee on his face.

Fish are a connection to family and nature. For each one I paint, I know there is a connection for you also. My hope is that these fish will spark reminders of joy and wonderful memories for you as well.

Happy fishing, tight lines, and fish on friend.

Follow my journey.
